Accountant – Purchasing & Accounting Support
Contract 1-3 months
Roseville, CA - Hybrid

You are  an Accountant who provides accounting and purchasing support to ensure fiscal transactions are accurately documented, processed, posted, and reconciled. The position assists with purchase orders, reviews purchasing documentation, supports general accounting activities, and contributes to timely financial reporting and maintenance of fiscal books and records.

This position pays: $30.00 to $35.00 per hour

What you will be doing:

  • Create and process purchase orders in accordance with established procedures.
  • Review purchasing documentation for completeness, accuracy, required approvals, and policy compliance.
  • Assist with transaction preparation, posting, and reconciliation for all books of account and related journals..
  • Identify discrepancies and assist with necessary corrections or adjustments.
  • Review vouchers for appropriate coding, supporting documentation, and authorizations.
  • Prepare and maintain Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and financial records.
  • Assist with grant reports and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare audit schedules and other financial documentation as requested.
  • Support month-end, year-end, and grant closing activities.
  • Assist with special projects and other accounting functions as assigned.

What you bring:

  • Hands-on accounting experience with working knowledge of purchasing, accounts payable, general ledger, and reconciliation processes.
  • Experience creating and processing purchase orders and reviewing purchasing documentation.
  • Experience with accounting software and automated financial systems; Blackbaud, Sage Intacct, SAP, or comparable platforms preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel functions and Office 365 applications..
  • Ability to analyze financial information and identify discrepancies or incomplete documentation..
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Demonstrated accountability and commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Experience with Tribal health systems, nonprofit organizations, or public-sector accounting preferred.
