Accountant – General Ledger & Reconciliation
Contract 1-3 months
Roseville, CA - Hybrid

You are an Accountant who supports the timely and accurate maintenance of fiscal books of record, with a primary focus on general ledger activity, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and reporting. This position assists with month-end, year-end, and grant close processes and ensures financial records are accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable policies.

This position pays: $33.00 to $37.00 per hour

What you will be doing:

  • Prepare and maintain general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Reconcile balance-sheet and other financial accounts.
  • Review general ledger activity and prepare journal entries or adjustments as needed.
  • Identify discrepancies and prepare or recommend appropriate corrective entries.
  • Assist with transaction preparation, posting, and reconciliation for books of account and related journals.
  • Support month-end, year-end, and grant close activities.
  • Prepare and maintain Excel spreadsheets, financial reports, grant reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare audit schedules for annual and funding-source audits

What you bring:

  • Hands-on accounting experience with demonstrated knowledge of general ledger and reconciliation processes.
  • Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and purchasing processes.
  • Experience with accounting software and automated financial record-keeping systems; Blackbaud, Sage Intacct, SAP, or comparable platforms preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office 365 skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and accountability.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Experience with Tribal health systems, nonprofit organizations, or public-sector accounting preferred.
