Job Summary
Tax Accountant
San Jose, CA
You are a detail-oriented Tax Accountant to support multi-state tax compliance and reporting activities. This role is responsible for sales and use tax filings, property tax reporting, exemption certificate management, income tax support, and regulatory filings in a fast-paced corporate environment. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, tax compliance knowledge, and experience working with SAP and accounting systems.
This position pays: $38.00 to $50.00 per hour
What you will be doing:
- Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions
- Organize, verify, and maintain resale and exemption certificates
- Prepare property filing statements and submit property tax payments
- Assist with corporate income tax returns, tax extensions, and quarterly estimated tax payments
- Support withholding tax filings and ensure timely submission of required tax forms
- Compile vendor data and prepare annual Form 1099 filings
- Prepare and file federal and state censuses, surveys, annual reports, and license renewals
- Research tax-related issues and support compliance with federal and state regulations
- Assist with additional accounting and tax-related projects as needed
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–3 years of tax or accounting experience with sales/use tax and property tax exposure
- Understanding of tax compliance standards and reporting requirements
- SAP experience highly preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and quantitative skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
