Accounting Supervisor - (Contract)
American Canyon, CA - Onsite

You are an Accounting Supervisor to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, audits, and the accounting team. This role manages general and subsidiary ledgers, AP/AR functions, month-end close, financial analysis, inventory, and compliance while supporting agency fiscal policies and business needs.

This position pays: $45.00 to $50.00 per hour

What you will be doing

• Supervise and support all accounting staff and maintain accounting procedures.
• Oversee weekly AP/AR processing, cash-flow reporting, and aging reports.
• Manage the monthly close calendar, journal entries, and general ledger.
• Prepare and/or oversee monthly balance-sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Reconcile fixed-asset subsidiary records and maintain accurate asset listings.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and analytical reports covering trends, costs, and revenues.
• Assist with annual budgets, budgeting templates, and accounting-system input.
• Review annual 1099s and ensure timely vendor and IRS filings.
• Prepare audit documentation and coordinate audit-related requests.
• Conduct bank deposits, change runs, and inventory management across warehouse locations.
• Maintain compliance with agency fiscal and personnel policies and provide quality customer service.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field with 5+ years of accounting experience; equivalent accounting experience may substitute for part of the education requirement.
• Experience across full-cycle accounting, including GL, AP, AR, reconciliations, financial reporting, and budgeting.
• Nonprofit, grant, retail, AP/AR, or similar accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with accounting software and strong spreadsheet development skills.
• Highly organized, self-directed, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
• Strong analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and the public.
