Assistant Planner
Emeryville, CA (Hybrid schedule)

You are an Assistant Planner supporting inventory planning and distribution to ensure optimal product availability, profitability, and sales performance across stores. This hands-on role requires strong analytical skills, quick decision-making, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to manage inventory flow, execute allocation strategies, and respond to business trends.

 This position pays: $34.00 to $35.00 per hour

What you will be doing:

• Execute product distribution strategies to maximize store turns and profitability
• Allocate merchandise in alignment with assortment strategies and company initiatives
• Analyze store-level data to identify trends and recommend actionable improvements
• Support seasonal distribution plans in coordination with planning and purchasing teams
• Monitor and manage aged and expiring inventory; partner with planners on corrective actions
• Assist in building inventory assortments for new store openings
• Manage store distribution groups based on demographics, size, and sales trends
• Communicate inventory positions, sales performance, and distribution updates across teams
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners including Planning, Purchasing, Stores, and Distribution
• Participate in meetings to contribute insights on allocation and distribution strategies
• Review inventory levels for key items and ensure alignment with demand
• Prepare and present reports and analysis to management
• Support buyers with inventory and product lifecycle updates
• Execute entry and exit strategies for seasonal and new merchandise programs
• Conduct store and warehouse visits as needed

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Sound decision-making skills with the ability to act quickly on limited information
• Proficiency in interpreting data, reports, and operational instructions
• Intermediate Excel skills preferred
• Resourceful, adaptable, and accountable with a sense of ownership over responsibilities
