Staff Accountant (CONTRACT)

You are are a detail-oriented Staff Accountant (AP & GL focus) supporting a high-volume nonprofit accounting team. This role plays a critical part in stabilizing day-to-day accounting operations by managing transaction processing, supporting general ledger activity, and ensuring timely and accurate financial data entry within Sage Intacct. You will work alongside other accountants in a collaborative, onsite environment.

This position pays: $40/hour depending on experience

Location: Santa Rosa, CA

  What you will be doing:

• Process high-volume accounts payable transactions with accuracy and timeliness
• Enter and code invoices in Sage Intacct
• Support general ledger activities, including journal entry preparation and posting
• Assist with month-end close tasks and accounting support as needed
• Work closely with accounting team members to maintain workflow stability
• Ensure proper documentation and compliance within established processes
• Maintain data integrity and support ongoing accounting operations

What you bring:

• Experience in a Staff Accountant or strong AP-focused accounting role
• Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct (transaction processing required)
• Comfort working in high-volume, data-heavy environments
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Experience supporting GL functions and month-end close processes
• Ability to work onsite full-time and collaborate with cross-functional teams
