Cost Accounting Manager
Location: St. Helena, CA
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM–12:00 PM

This position pays: Salary Range: $85,000 annually
Start Date: ASAP

You are a Cost Accounting Manager looking to join our accounting team in St. Helena, CA. This role is responsible for managing inventory and cost accounting functions including general ledger activities, inventory reconciliations, cost variance analysis, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical capabilities, a high level of integrity, and relevant industry experience to support the financial health of our wine production operations.

What You Will Be Doing

• Perform general accounting functions and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze month-end inventory reconciliations (grapes, bulk wine, barrels, dry goods, finished goods).
• Track and reconcile bulk wine storage costs against contracts.
• Cost finished goods monthly and evaluate packaging component costs.
• Analyze and report on cost variances; assist in annual budget development for production SKUs.
• Post journal entries and maintain supporting documentation for inventory accounts.
• Oversee inventory setup including part numbers and bills of materials.
• Maintain historical COGS data and retail pricing tables for wine and non-wine products.
• Collaborate with internal teams including the Controller and CFO to support financial reporting and forecasting.
• Provide accounting guidance on cost of finished goods to business partners.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in general and/or cost accounting; wine industry experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and inventory costing principles.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical thinking.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to work cross-functionally.
• Experience with accounting systems such as:
• Vintrace
• NetSuite
• NuTrax
• C7
• Winepulse
• WhiskeySystems (5xfive)
