Staff Accountant (CONTRACT)

You are a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant eager to join the growing finance team at a fast-paced company in the transportation and logistics industry. With a solid foundation in GAAP and ERP systems, you’re ready to support financial operations and contribute to the company’s continued growth. You're collaborative, tech-savvy, and seeking a long-term opportunity to advance your career.

This position pays: $65,000 – $75,000/year (DOE) | Contract-to-Hire

What you will be doing: 

• Supporting the finance team during a key transition and ongoing business expansion
• Assisting with day-to-day accounting functions, including journal entries and reconciliations
• Participating in the month-end close and ensuring timely financial reporting
• Assisting with excise and/or sales tax filings as required
• Reviewing and maintaining accurate general ledger records
• Working onsite with a ~15-person accounting team in a culture that values collaboration and inclusion
• Asking questions, reviewing prior records, and learning proactively from senior staff
• Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager

What you bring:

• Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger, and financial reporting
• ERP experience; SAGE 100 preferred
• Transportation, logistics, or service industry experience (preferred but not required)
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Flexible schedule with full-time onsite availability (start time between 6–8 AM)
• Desire to grow professionally in a long-term, stable environment
• Tech-savvy and adaptable in fast-changing environments
