Job Summary
AP Clerk (CONTRACT)
You are a detail-oriented and motivated individual looking to start or grow your career in accounting. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, wants to learn how businesses operate behind the scenes, and is excited to contribute to a collaborative team. This is a contract to hire opportunity.
This position pays: $20/hour (with full benefits upon conversion, including 100% employer-paid healthcare, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and holidays)
What you will be doing:
- Assist with all aspects of accounts payable, including:
- Creating and sending purchase order (PO) requests for approval
- Following up on vendor POs
- Receiving and comparing invoices to POs for accuracy
- Communicating with vendors to resolve discrepancies in part counts or pricing
- Posting vendor invoices into QuickBooks
- Matching payment check stubs with corresponding invoices
- Reconciling credit card statements
- Support general administrative and office tasks, including:
- Reception desk support and phone coverage
- Filing and records maintenance
- Tracking how orders and parts flow in and out of the business
- Gain exposure to all areas of the business to support broader operational understanding
- Use and receive training on multiple tools and systems:
- QuickBooks
- Excel (basic data entry and spreadsheet maintenance)
- Mac and PC environment
What you bring:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proactive mindset — work doesn’t come to you; you go find it
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Comfortable learning new systems and vendor workflows
- Basic familiarity with Excel and QuickBooks preferred (but not required)
- A customer service attitude when dealing with vendors and internal teams
