AP Clerk (CONTRACT)

You are a detail-oriented and motivated individual looking to start or grow your career in accounting. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, wants to learn how businesses operate behind the scenes, and is excited to contribute to a collaborative team. This is a contract to hire opportunity. 

This position pays: $20/hour (with full benefits upon conversion, including 100% employer-paid healthcare, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and holidays)

What you will be doing:

• Assist with all aspects of accounts payable, including:
• Creating and sending purchase order (PO) requests for approval
• Following up on vendor POs
• Receiving and comparing invoices to POs for accuracy
• Communicating with vendors to resolve discrepancies in part counts or pricing
• Posting vendor invoices into QuickBooks
• Matching payment check stubs with corresponding invoices
• Reconciling credit card statements
• Support general administrative and office tasks, including:
• Reception desk support and phone coverage
• Filing and records maintenance
• Tracking how orders and parts flow in and out of the business
• Gain exposure to all areas of the business to support broader operational understanding
• Use and receive training on multiple tools and systems:
• QuickBooks
• Excel (basic data entry and spreadsheet maintenance)
• Mac and PC environment

What you bring:

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proactive mindset — work doesn’t come to you; you go find it
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Comfortable learning new systems and vendor workflows
• Basic familiarity with Excel and QuickBooks preferred (but not required)
• A customer service attitude when dealing with vendors and internal teams
