Tax Manager

Location: San Francisco, CA  - Hybrid

Compensation: $130-160K DOE

A leading full-service accounting firm with multiple Bay Area locations is seeking an experienced and motivated Tax Manager to join its growing tax department. This role is essential in leading tax planning, compliance, and strategy efforts while mentoring junior staff and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate delivery of U.S. tax services, including review of complex tax returns (corporations, partnerships, individuals).
  • Advise clients on complex tax issues, transactions, and structuring.
  • Review ASC 740 tax provisions in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Collaborate with other departments to offer integrated client solutions beyond tax and accounting.
  • Maintain technical expertise in domestic and international tax provisions.
  • Develop strong client relationships and support business development initiatives.
  • Implement risk management policies and best practices within the tax practice.
  • Train, manage, and mentor junior tax professionals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • CPA or JD preferred
  • Relevant tax experience, preferably in public accounting preferred
  • Supervsoory experience.
  • Proficient in corporate, individual, and partnership taxation.
  • Experienced with CCH ProSystem FX Tax.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and teams.
  • Problem-solving mindset with an entrepreneurial spirit.
