Job Title: Warehouse Associate

Status: Full-time, Non-exempt

Location: Sebastopol, CA

Job Overview:
A leading manufacturer of sustainable specialty food is seeking a Warehouse Associate for its Sebastopol, CA facility. This role is responsible for the accurate receiving, storing, picking, staging, and shipping of finished goods in compliance with company standards. The position is full-time, non-exempt, and reports to the Warehouse Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Order Packing:

• Accurately pack distributor orders and plan pallets efficiently

• Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices and adhere to distributor shelf-life requirements

• Secure orders using stretch wrap machines and verify order accuracy

• Complete necessary documentation including Bills of Lading and bio-terrorism forms

• Collect pickup details from drivers for shipping documentation

Shipping & Receiving:

• Inspect incoming and outgoing trucks for cleanliness, pests, and temperature control

• Reconcile shipments with packing slips and ensure accurate counts

• Communicate issues with order pickups to the Warehouse Manager

• Ensure outgoing loads are properly secured

Inventory Control & Loss Prevention:

• Handle products with care to minimize damage and spills

• Adhere to shelf-life policies and minimize exposure to non-refrigerated conditions

• Accurately count and document product inventories

Equipment Use & Maintenance:

• Operate forklifts (gas/electric), pallet jacks (manual/electric), and stretch wrap equipment

• Conduct daily/weekly safety checks and maintain proper battery care

• Monitor and maintain required cold storage temperatures, reporting issues immediately

General Duties:

• Foster interdepartmental cooperation and maintain a clean, organized warehouse

• Follow HACCP practices and ensure products are properly stored

• Continuously seek efficiency improvements in warehouse processes

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Proficiency in operating warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks)

• Basic math skills, including percentages

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently

• Flexible and adaptable to changing demands

• Ability to work effectively with a diverse team

Minimum Qualifications:

• One or more years of warehouse experience preferred
