Grounds Team Lead

$32.00–$35.00 per hour | Full-Time
A well-established company, offering excellent benefits, is seeking a Grounds Team Lead to oversee the exterior maintenance of a large residential and commercial property portfolio in Marin County. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity with a stable organization that values teamwork, quality, and long-term employee relationships.
Position Summary
We are looking for a Grounds Team Lead to supervise and work alongside our exterior maintenance crew. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with leadership experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, property maintenance, golf course maintenance, tree services, or a similar outdoor environment.
This is a working lead position—you’ll provide direction, training, and scheduling while working alongside the team to ensure the properties remain safe, attractive, and well maintained.
Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and mentor a grounds maintenance team of five employees, with plans to expand the team.
- Create daily work schedules and assign tasks.
- Perform and oversee landscape maintenance, including pruning, trimming, planting, cleanup, irrigation checks, and general grounds upkeep.
- Ensure all exterior areas are maintained to company standards.
- Utilize a mobile work order management system to complete and track assignments.
- Coordinate with management regarding priorities and special projects.
- Promote a safe, productive, and positive work environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience leading a grounds, landscape, maintenance, or outdoor operations team.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Comfortable using smartphones and mobile applications.
- Hands-on leader willing to work alongside the crew.
- Valid California driver’s license with a clean DMV record.
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following:
- Property management
- Landscaping
- Golf course maintenance
- Tree services
- Commercial or residential maintenance
- Facilities or asset management
Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Full-time (40 hours per week)
Compensation
- $32.00–$35.00 per hour, depending on experience.
