Welcome Center Concierge (Temporary, Part-Time)
You are a welcoming, customer-focused hospitality professional who enjoys helping visitors discover the best of Santa Rosa and Sonoma County. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, provide exceptional guest service, and are comfortable balancing visitor assistance with daily operational and administrative responsibilities. This temporary, part-time position includes one or both weekend days.
Location: Santa Rosa, CA (Historic Railroad Square)
Schedule: Wednesdays – Sundays 10am – 4pm
This Position Pays: $22.00/hour
What You Will Be Doing:
- Welcome and assist visitors in person, by phone, and via email with travel information and local recommendations.
- Share knowledge of local attractions, wineries, restaurants, events, parks, hiking, biking, and other points of interest throughout Sonoma County.
- Open and close the Welcome Center while maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting environment.
- Support daily operations including data entry, merchandising, inventory of visitor materials, packet assembly, mailings, and office supply management.
- Coordinate and provide guidance to Welcome Center volunteers.
- Research local events and attractions to ensure visitor information remains current.
- Assist with group tourism inquiries and route leads to the appropriate business development team.
- Represent the Welcome Center at tourism and community events when needed.
- Serve as the on-site staff representative in the manager’s absence by communicating emergencies, coordinating with vendors, and escalating operational issues to leadership.
- Perform additional administrative and operational duties as assigned.
What You Bring:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with a warm, professional, and welcoming demeanor.
- Strong knowledge of Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, and local tourism attractions.
- Experience in hospitality, tourism, retail, visitor services, or a customer-facing environment.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, email, internet research, data entry, and standard office equipment.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work independently while supporting volunteers and visitors.
- Reliable, collaborative, and flexible with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
- Accredited Hospitality Professional (AHP) certification or familiarity with Sonoma County Tourism is a plus.
