You are a detail-oriented and proactive Supply Assurance Buyer II supporting the Richmond Chemical Plant, which produces process chromatography resins, liquid buffers, monomer solutions, oils, and other specialized life science products. In this role, you will collaborate closely with planning, production, QC, manufacturing engineering, and warehouse teams to ensure uninterrupted material flow and support complex batch production processes across more than 3,000 SKUs. You will manage supplier communications, monitor ERP signals, address urgent material shortages, and proactively mitigate supply risks to maintain production continuity and meet customer demand.

This position pays: $37.30 – $45.00

What you will be doing:

  • Place purchase orders for goods and services supporting manufacturing operations

  • Monitor open purchase orders and confirm supplier commitments

  • Manage supplier relationships to improve supply chain efficiency

  • Identify, escalate, and resolve potential supply shortages and material risks

  • Review supplier communications and ERP/SAP system signals daily

  • Coordinate with planning, scheduling, QC, warehouse, and production teams

  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and minimize overdue invoices

  • Monitor and optimize inventory and stocking levels

  • Support production expedites and contingency planning efforts

  • Participate in supplier audits and business reviews

  • Process RTVs (Return to Vendor) for non-conforming materials

  • Maintain purchasing files, records, and compliance documentation

  • Support long-term initiatives including dual sourcing, supplier performance tracking, and inventory optimization

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or production planning

  • Experience issuing and expediting purchase orders

  • Understanding of purchasing and materials management principles

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Windows, and Teams

  • Experience with SAP preferred

  • CPM and/or CPIM coursework or certification preferred
