Position: Machine Operator
Pay: $25.00 – $29.00/HR
Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 5am – 3:30pm 4/10s
As a CNC Machine Operator, you’ll be hands on with programming and running a variety of industrial fabrication machines critical to producing structural steel and metal components. You will support production by operating, setting up, and maintaining machines efficiently and safely while meeting quality and output targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate specialized fabrication equipment:
- CNC Plate Punch & CNC Plasma Burning systems, CNC Angle Cutting machines
- Cutting, drilling, and shaping steel parts
- Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and layout instructions to configure machines appropriately
- Perform machine setup, tooling changes, and calibration to meet part specifications
- Monitor machine performance, make adjustments as needed, and resolve common operating issues
- Inspect parts with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify conformity
- Communicate production status and quality concerns to supervisors
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience operating fabrication or machine shop equipment in an industrial environment
- Ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
- Strong mechanical aptitude with solid problem-solving skills
- Basic mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in a demanding shop setting
- Forklift or overhead crane experience
