Human Resources Coordinator/ I9 Specialist
You are a: Detail-oriented and proactive HR professional who thrives in
a fast-paced environment, ensuring a smooth and compliant pre-onboarding
experience for candidates while partnering closely with HR, legal, and external
vendors.
Location: San Jose (4.5 month assignment)
This Position Pays: $40/hr
What You Will Be Doing:
- Manage and complete pre-employment screening processes, including background checks, health screenings, and credential verifications
- Evaluate background check results for compliance with applicable laws and company policies
- Partner with HR, legal, and hiring teams to communicate outcomes and support hiring decisions
- Track and manage screening status through vendor systems, ensuring accuracy and adherence to service level agreements
- Serve as a liaison between internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve issues and improve processes
- Maintain accurate records and reporting within HR systems
- Provide recommendations to enhance pre-onboarding workflows, policies, and compliance practices
- Communicate updates on background check laws and procedural changes to HR partners
- Support candidates and internal teams with pre-onboarding inquiries and guidance
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
- At least 1 year of relevant HR or administrative experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
- Customer-focused mindset with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Knowledge of HR practices, policies, and employment compliance requirements
- Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across all levels of the organization
- Highly organized, self-directed, and committed to continuous improvement
