Position: Machine Operator
Pay: $25.00 – $29.00/HR
Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 5am – 3:30pm 4/10s
As a Machine Operator, you’ll be hands on with a variety of industrial fabrication machines critical to producing structural steel and metal components. You will support production by operating, setting up, and maintaining machines efficiently and safely while meeting quality and output targets.
Key Responsibilities
Operate specialized fabrication equipment:
• CNC Plate Punch & CNC Plasma Burning systems, CNC Angle Cutting machines
• Plate Rolls, Cambering Machines, Shears, and Press Brakes
• Saws and Radial Arm Drill Presses (Equipment based on known company machinery)
• Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and layout instructions to configure machines appropriately
• Perform machine setup, tooling changes, and calibration to meet part specifications
• Monitor machine performance, make adjustments as needed, and resolve common operating issues
• Inspect parts with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify conformity
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and comply with all safety protocols
• Communicate production status and quality concerns to supervisors
Required Qualifications
• 1–3+ years of experience operating fabrication or machine shop equipment
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings and instructions
• Comfortable working with heavy steel and industrial machines
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Basic mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
• Ability to lift ~50 lbs, stand long periods, and work in an industrial setting
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
• Experience with CNC plasma, punch, or angle cutting systems
• Familiarity with press brakes and plate rolling equipment
• Forklift or overhead crane experience
• Precision measuring tool proficiency
