Accounting Manager / Business Manager
Santa Rosa, CA – onsite

You are an Accounting & Business Manager responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining financial and business policies and procedures. This role oversees all accounting functions, financial reporting, human resources administration, insurance coordination, and contract development to ensure efficient and compliant business operations.

This position pays: $48.00 to $50.00 per hour

What you will be doing:

  • Manage daily financial activities including accounting operations, business planning, and budget preparation and control
  • Oversee all accounts payable functions, including preparation and submission of sales taxes
  • Manage accounts receivable, balance and record daily sales and receipts for all business units
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly invoices for related business units
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, as well as custom financial reports for management, special projects, and events
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations
  • Administer insurance programs including business liability, workers’ compensation, and employee benefits (health, dental, vision, life) in coordination with the General Manager and Treasurer
  • Reconcile and review timesheets; process payroll data and maintain payroll records
  • Maintain employee information and benefits data
  • Oversee onboarding and termination documentation; maintain employee files and handbook
  • Foster a culture of teamwork and strong work ethics
  • Maintain regular communication with management regarding financial and operational activities

What you bring:

  • Knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, payroll processing, and compliance requirements
  • Experience with accounting software systems, Sage a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Self-starter with the ability to analyze situations and develop solutions with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and support a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility to work varying hours as business needs require
