Cost Accounting Manager

Contract – 6 months

You are a Cost Accounting Manager who will oversee all cost accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP and delivering accurate, timely financial insights. This role partners closely with Operations to analyze manufacturing costs, maintain strong internal controls, support audits, and drive continuous process improvement.

Location: Mountain View, CA -Hybrid schedule

This position pays: $72.00 to $75.00 per hour

What you will be doing:

• Analyzing and interpreting gross margins, material and volume variances, inventory movements, and related cost accounting metrics.
• Monitoring cycle counts and addressing inventory-related issues in partnership with Operations.
• Reviewing and updating material and overhead rates.
• Leading and implementing standard cost rollups with cross-functional teams.
• Supporting maintenance of strong internal financial controls and accurate financial statements.
• Preparing and presenting cost reports to senior management, highlighting key fluctuations and trends.
• Assisting external auditors during quarterly and annual audits, including variance explanations.
• Recommending and implementing improvements to streamline inventory processes.

What you bring:

• Demonstrated success partnering with manufacturing and management teams to deliver value-added insights.
• Strong experience analyzing variances and recommending corrective actions.
• 5–7 years of finance/accounting experience, including 3–5 years in a cost accounting leadership role (preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA is a plus.
• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical strength in manufacturing variances.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
