Quality, Safety & Environmental (QSE) Technician
Range: $23–$27 per hour
Location: On-site, Turlock, CA (100%)

Job Overview
Reporting to the QSE Manager, the QSE Technician supports company-wide quality, safety, and environmental programs at the Turlock facility. This role ensures compliance with FSSC 22000, regulatory requirements, and Good Manufacturing Practices while performing quality control testing and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Food Safety
- Perform chemical, physical, and microbiological testing on ingredients and finished products
- Support quality systems including pest control and environmental monitoring
- Maintain documentation for quality assurance, food safety programs, and regulatory compliance
- Assist with audits, inspections, and communication with regulatory bodies
- Investigate customer complaints
- Maintain hold-and-release procedures for finished goods
Training & Compliance
- Conduct safety and new-hire training
- Maintain training records and databases
- Educate employees on GMPs and Prerequisite Programs
- Monitor production areas for safety and quality issues
- Lead GMP and food safety onboarding for new personnel
Environmental Health & Safety
- Implement environmental and workplace safety policies
- Develop and update SOPs for safety and equipment certification
- Lead interdepartmental safety meetings
- Maintain regulatory schedules, permits, and required reports
- Track and report environmental KPIs
- Back up the QSE Manager on programs such as Appendix N and ATP
- Operate and calibrate lab and production equipment (Mojonnier, Babcock, metal detectors, Charm reader, etc.)
- Maintain FSSC 22000, HACCP, Kosher, and Certified Humane certifications
- Serve on Recall, Crisis Management, and Food Safety teams
- Act as a Sustainability Ambassador
- Maintain finished product retention sample libraries
Requirements
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience in food or beverage manufacturing
- Understanding of quality systems, workplace safety, and environmental compliance
