Salary Range: $90,000 – $100,000 annually plus terrific benefits

 

Position Summary

The Research & Evaluation Manager plays a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s mission to become a national leader in trauma-responsive, healing-centered care. Reporting to the Director of Research & Evaluation, this position leads and supports the design, implementation, and improvement of evaluation and research systems across all areas of the organization. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, experience in applied research and program evaluation, and a passion for using data to drive learning and measurable impact.

 

Key Responsibilities

Evaluation Design & Implementation

  • Develop and implement evaluation frameworks, logic models, and performance metrics across programs.
  • Create and refine measurement tools (e.g., surveys, validated instruments, interviews, focus groups).
  • Translate data into actionable insights that inform decision-making and quality improvement.
  • Support innovation and efficiency in data collection and analysis, including use of AI and new platforms.

Research & Applied Studies

  • Contribute to applied research projects aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Assist in developing study designs, methodologies, and ethical standards.
  • Conduct and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data for reports, presentations, and publications.

Data Systems & Analysis

  • Collaborate with IT and program teams to manage and enhance data systems and databases.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and data integrity through ongoing monitoring and cleaning.
  • Apply statistical methods to extract insights and maintain data dashboards for decision-making.
  • Train staff on interpreting and using data; produce regular analysis for leadership.

Capacity Building & Collaboration

  • Build internal capacity for data literacy and evidence-based practice.
  • Supervise and mentor the Research & Evaluation Associate.
  • Facilitate staff training on evaluation tools and data systems.
  • Lead rollout of new workflows and tools, ensuring effective adoption and feedback loops.

Reporting & Dissemination

  • Develop evaluation content for grant reports, board presentations, and community materials.
  • Collaborate with communications and development teams to highlight impact.
  • Support preparation of materials for conferences, funders, and publications.

External Partnerships

  • Collaborate with external organizations, government agencies, and academic institutions.
  • Contribute to shared measurement strategies for multi-partner initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in public health, social sciences, evaluation, education, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in evaluation, applied research, or quality improvement.
  • Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methods.
  • Strong data analysis skills with tools such as SPSS, Stata, or R.
  • Experience producing dashboards, visual reports, and data summaries.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, supervise staff, and collaborate across teams.
  • Familiarity with Results-Based Accountability (RBA) a plus
  • Experience in nonprofit, education, or social service settings a plus
  • Proficiency with databases, CRMs, and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Salesforce, Qualtrics) a plus.
  • Comfort working with statistical or coding languages (Python, SQL, R) a plus
