Maintenance Technician & Safety Coordinator
Location: Sebastopol, CA (On-site; 9:00am to 5:30pm with flexibility for safety training on alternate shifts)
Compensation: $34–$37/hour, Direct Hire

Overview:
We’re seeking a Maintenance Technician & Safety Coordinator for a full-time, in-person position in Sebastopol, CA. This hybrid role focuses on maintaining and improving equipment while also overseeing site-wide safety protocols, training, inspections, and compliance.
Key Objectives:
Lead monthly and ongoing safety training across all departments.
Conduct routine equipment inspections and ensure proper PPE usage.
Investigate safety incidents, implement corrective actions, and maintain thorough documentation.
Maintain and repair processing and packaging machinery.
Improve systems and processes for both maintenance and safety performance.
Track and manage parts inventory efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Maintenance
Repair, disassemble, and troubleshoot processing and packaging equipment.
Perform routine preventive maintenance: cleaning, lubricating, adjusting.
Identify mechanical issues and report to the Director of Maintenance.
Use tools such as saws, drills, and powered equipment safely and effectively.
Enter work orders and PM tasks into the maintenance system accurately.
Work independently or with a team depending on task complexity.
Safety
Promote a safety-first culture and ensure OSHA compliance.
Train employees on safe practices, emergency procedures, and ergonomics.
Lead accident investigations and implement process improvements.
Organize and lead monthly safety meetings.
Partner with HR to ensure new hires receive required safety onboarding.
Monitor facility for potential safety hazards and address them proactively.
Requirements:
Skills & Competencies
Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
Strong technical and organizational skills
Effective communication (verbal and written)
Calm under pressure and solution-oriented
Strong problem-solving and math skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work overtime when needed
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED
1–3 years of relevant maintenance and safety experience
Prior experience in a food manufacturing environment (required)
Valid driver’s license
