Manufacturing Maintenance Manager – Life Sciences
Location: Irvine, CA
Salary Range: $115,000 – $150,000 per year
Schedule: Full-time, On-site

We are seeking a Manufacturing Maintenance Manager to lead and strengthen our Equipment Maintenance and Metrology program. This key leadership role ensures the reliability and precision of equipment that directly supports the manufacturing of life-changing scientific products. You will build and develop a high-performing team, drive preventive maintenance programs, manage calibrations, and lead initiatives that keep our manufacturing processes running at the highest levels of accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
What You Will Be Doing:

Lead and develop a maintenance and metrology team responsible for the equipment that supports life sciences manufacturing with a direct impact on scientific research and healthcare advancements.

Manage and optimize preventive maintenance and calibration programs to ensure operational readiness, regulatory compliance, and equipment reliability.

Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), minimize unplanned downtime, and reduce mean time to repair (MTTR).

Oversee equipment calibration schedules and vendor partnerships to ensure precision and adherence to scientific standards.

Support the acquisition, installation, validation, and long-term care of critical manufacturing equipment.

Partner with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Facilities to ensure seamless production support and continuous improvement.

Utilize advanced systems such as SAP, CMMS, and Quality Management platforms to track maintenance, calibration, and compliance documentation.
What You Bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.

5+ years of maintenance leadership experience, ideally in life sciences, biotech, medical device, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Proven experience managing validated systems, metrology, calibration, and preventative maintenance programs in GMP/ISO-regulated environments.

Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and metrology tracking tools.

Lean/Six Sigma or continuous improvement experience preferred.

Strong leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with a passion for supporting high-impact scientific work in a fast-paced, family-oriented environment.
