Plant Operations Manager
Location: Sonoma County, CA
Salary: $100,000 – $13000
Job Summary
A premium food manufacturing company located in Sonoma County is seeking a dedicated and experienced Plant Operations Manager to lead and oversee all production operations. This role is ideal for a strategic, hands-on leader who can drive efficiency, ensure product quality, and foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a production team of employees, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance.
- Oversee daily plant operations including production scheduling, inventory control, and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, including OSHA, Organic, Non-GMO, Gluten-Free, Kosher, and SQF certifications.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage inventory levels to support production while minimizing waste and optimizing stock levels.
- Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess production outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
- Utilize NetSuite ERP, MRP systems, and Quality Management Systems (QMS) to manage work orders, track inventory, and support operational planning.
- Coordinate facility and equipment maintenance schedules, working with both internal teams and external vendors.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with quality, supply chain, finance, and executive leadership to ensure operational alignment.
- Maintain accurate records of capital assets and production data for financial and operational reporting.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Manufacturing or Plant Manager in a food production or related manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance standards.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations, SQF certification, and other industry standards.
- Proficient in ERP systems, preferably NetSuite; experience with MRP and QMS required.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and statistical process control (SPC).
- Spanish language skills preferred.
