Publishing Specialist

Location: San Diego – Hybrid (TEMP TO HIRE)
This Position Pays: $35/hr - $40/hr

What You Will Be Doing:

• Format, edit, and prepare complex environmental documents for internal/client review and Section 508 compliance
• Generate tables of contents, indices, and resolve formatting issues (e.g., section breaks, heading structures, reading order)
• Proofread and edit reports, memos, letters, and meeting minutes
• Assist in organizing public comment responses for Draft EIRs
• Coordinate with graphics and administrative teams on templates, shipping, and printed materials
• Operate office production equipment (printers, binders, folding machines)
• Provide Microsoft Office and Adobe support to colleagues
• Collaborate with multiple project managers to meet deadlines and quality standards

What You Bring:

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat REQUIRED
• Familiarity with SharePoint and Adobe InDesign (or willingness to learn)
• Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills
• High school diploma required; Associate degree or higher in English, Journalism, or related field preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience preferred
• Experience in planning/environmental consulting industry is a plus
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at a desk for prolonged periods
