Accounts Receivable & Credit Application Specialist

Location: Livermore, CA Onsite


You are a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable & Credit Application Specialist to support all aspects of credit application processing and accounts receivable. This role ensures timely and accurate processing of payments, monitors delinquent accounts, and communicates with clients and vendors to resolve issues efficiently. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and committed to high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.

This position pays: $28-$32 per hour

What you will be doing:

  • Process and enter incoming credit applications from third-party vendors into internal and finance systems
  • Record and reconcile incoming funding from finance companies
  • Post customer payments to accounting systems and banks using desktop deposit
  • Review A/R reports and write off bad debt and closed layaway accounts
  • Handle credit card and finance disputes, process refunds, and adjust customer balances
  • Monitor and follow up on delinquent accounts, working with clients and stores to resolve payment issues
  • Prepare and distribute aging and collection reports; escalate problematic accounts as needed
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all account activity and communications
  • Conduct account research using company records and available resources
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and verify no-tax invoices
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager

What you bring:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent; 2–3 years of relevant A/R or credit processing experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial systems
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience calculating discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages
  • Ability to create reports and business correspondence clearly and professionally
  • Flexibility to adapt in a dynamic work environment
