Staff Accountant (Contract-to-hire)

Location: West Sacramento – Onsite

You are a Staff Accountant responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing essential reports, and supporting audit activities. This role involves reconciling bank statements, preparing journal entries, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The position plays a key role in the monthly close process and contributes to cost-saving and revenue-enhancement initiatives.

This position pays: $35.00 per hour

What you will be doing:

• Prepare and enter journal entries in a timely and accurate manner
• Reconcile monthly bank statements and balance sheet accounts
• Organize and maintain financial records
• Review financial statements to ensure accuracy and legal compliance
• Support monthly and year-end close processes
• Recommend improvements to reduce costs and improve financial performance
• Prepare documentation and reports for external audits
• Assist in ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
• Uphold all company safety protocols and work practices

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related financial role
• Strong understanding of accounting standards and reconciliation processes
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Customer-service mindset and team-oriented attitude
• Comfort and professionalism in meetings and presentations
• A commitment to continuous learning and development
