Bilingual (Spanish) Harm Reduction Outreach 

You are a compassionate, bilingual (Spanish), and dedicated professional with a deep commitment to harm reduction and public health. You have a solid understanding of addiction, infectious diseases, and harm reduction principles. You value community engagement and enjoy making a direct impact in the lives of those most at risk.

Location: San Rafael (On-Site)
This Position Pays: $31.20 per hour + 6% Bilingual Differential

What you will be doing:

  • Create and distribute harm reduction supplies (safer injection supplies, naloxone kits, condoms, etc.) while encouraging safe disposal practices.
  • Provide HIV/STI/Hepatitis prevention education, risk assessments, and facilitate screening.
  • Offer clients information, referrals, and support for harm reduction, overdose prevention, health, and community services.
  • Attend relevant meetings, conferences, and training to stay current on harm reduction and health developments.
  • Build rapport with the unhoused and substance-using population, providing a safe space for communication.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold strong professional boundaries with clients.

What you bring:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (both written and spoken).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of addiction, harm reduction, and infectious diseases (HCV/HIV).
  • Experience with harm reduction or community-based programs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and boundaries.
  • Ability to produce a negative TB test and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as per healthcare requirements.
