Job Summary
You are a Tax Director (Contract)
As the Director of Tax, you will lead and develop the internal tax function and strategies that support the company’s growth. You will be a hands-on leader, ensuring compliance, optimizing the company’s tax profile, and delivering high-quality tax reporting. This role requires a proactive expert with strong technical knowledge and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external advisors.
This position pays: $85 - 110/hr DOE
What you will be doing:
- Oversee and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual tax accounting and reporting requirements.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of tax returns while managing tax audits and authority interactions.
- Implement and improve tax-related systems, tools, and processes for efficiency.
- Serve as a key liaison between operations, accounting, and external tax advisors.
- Support business development initiatives, including tax implications for new markets, financing, and M&A transactions.
- Develop and maintain tax policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks, ensuring all federal, state, and local tax obligations are met.
- Prepare SEC-compliant quarterly and annual tax disclosures and ASC 740 tax provisions.
- Conduct tax planning, forecasting, and research to optimize tax strategies and savings.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (Master’s in Taxation preferred)
- CPA certification
- Public company tax experience with a strong understanding of US GAAP financial reporting for income taxes
- Experience with ERP and tax systems
- Retail or consumer products background preferred
- Minimum 6 years s in a top-tier public accounting firm, with 7-10 years of overall progressive experience
