Human Resources Manager

This position pays: $80,000 – $120,000 annually

Location: Healdsburg, CA

Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM; occasional early start times may be required

You are a Human Resources Manager who will oversee all aspects of the Human Resources department, including recruitment, retention, employee relations, compensation, performance management, training, safety programs, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This position requires wearing multiple hats, lending support to other departments, and fostering a positive company culture.

What you will be doing:

  • General & Strategic Administration:
  • Lead the development and execution of HR strategies aligned with company goals for short, medium, and long-term growth.
  • Create, implement, and maintain HR policies, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Manage HR data systems (HRIS) and personnel records.
  • Provide advice to management on HR-related issues, including employee relations, counseling, and policy interpretation.
  • Staffing & Recruitment:
  • Develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Oversee recruitment activities, conduct interviews, and participate in hiring decisions.
  • Manage the onboarding process and orientation of new hires.
  • Coordinate temporary staffing for seasonal needs and manage exit interviews and employee separations.
  • Benefits & Compensation Administration:
  • Direct compensation plans and annual salary reviews.
  • Analyze wage data to ensure competitive compensation practices.
  • Oversee employee performance management and career development programs.
  • Safety Program & Compliance:
  • Support safety initiatives and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Lead the company safety committee and organize safety training programs.
  • Oversee workplace incident investigations and develop preventive safety measures.
  • Other Duties:
  • Conduct property inspections and report on the condition of company housing.
  • Collaborate with vineyard managers on safety standards that exceed regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain employee records and assist with daily HR operations.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, and 5+ years of HR management experience. Combination of education and experience considered.
  • Bilingual: Spanish proficiency (required).
  • Certification: PHR or SPHR certification is desirable.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of local, state, and federal employment laws.
  • Skills: Leadership, confidentiality, strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
