Benefits Manager

You are a detail-oriented professional with over 5 years of experience in employee benefit and retirement plan administration, adept at managing compliance, audits, and project execution.

This position pays:  $55-$65 /hr

Location: San Rafael, Ca  

What you will be doing:

  • Execute timely and effective processes for compliance, audit, documentation, transaction processing, reporting, and filing related to retirement and benefit programs.
  • Coordinate and plan projects related to employee retirement and benefit programs, ensuring they are completed within required timeframes.
  • Respond to inquiries and requests from participants, auditors, and business stakeholders regarding program operations.
  • Support compliance processes, audits, and associated reporting for benefit and retirement plans.
  • Provide timely and accurate responses to inquiries from plan participants, vendors, and corporate stakeholders.
  • Compile and maintain accurate program documentation and records, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Coordinate benefit transactions with Payroll to ensure accurate communication regarding deductions and plan remittances.
  • Enter and process employee benefit plan elections and status changes in HR and vendor systems.

What you bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in employee benefit and retirement plan administration.
  • Experience with carrier and recordkeeper implementations, and preferably large retirement plan administration.
  • Strong understanding of various employee benefit and retirement plans, regulations, and applicable laws.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and/or benefits management software, with excellent process management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to manage confidential information and adhere to HIPAA protocols.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel and basic skills in Word and Outlook.
