Clinical Education Coordinator (Assistant or Associate Professor)

Location: Vallejo, California 

Hours: Full-time 

Salary Range: $115,000 – $140,000

Our client is a successful University that is seeking a Clinical Education Coordinator at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor for its new Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program. 

You will hold a bachelor’s degree and credentials in Abdomen, OB/Gyn, and Vascular sonography by ARDMS, CCI, and/or ARRT. You should be comfortable supervising clinical education, didactic teaching, mentorship, exam proctoring, and contributing to academic and service responsibilities. This is an excellent opportunity to educate and mentor future sonographers in the vibrant Bay Area. 

What You Will Be Doing 

  • Correlate and coordinate clinical education with curricular outcomes and assess its effectiveness. 
  • Develop and deliver curriculum content, including exam item writing and proctoring. 
  • Evaluate student performance in clinical settings. 
  • Recruit and maintain relationships with clinical sites. 
  • Mentor students, plan academic advisement sessions, and participate in the admissions process. 
  • Attend departmental meetings, advisory board meetings, and provide service to college and university committees. 
  • Engage in scholarly work, including research, presentations, publications, and potentially obtaining grants. 
  • Develop assessment plans and evaluation tools for clinical education. 
  • Participate in continuing education activities and other faculty duties as assigned. 

What You Bring 

·                     Education: Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred). 

·                     Credentials: Credentialed in Abdomen, OB/Gyn, and Vascular sonography by ARDMS, CCI, or ARRT. 

·                     Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer. 

  • Proficiency in curriculum development, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and counseling. 
  • Strong interpersonal relationship and communication skills. 
  • Commitment to the professional development of sonography and active participation in professional societies (SDMS, AIUM, SVU). 
  • Research experience or interest is preferred. 
  • Personal integrity and a strong commitment to confidentiality. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Strong critical thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work collegially with a diverse faculty and staff, while maintaining confidentiality. 
  • Creativity and the ability to learn and utilize essential technologies effectively.
