Change Manager

Job Summary:

The Program Management Office (PMO) is seeking a seasoned Change Manager to join their team and provide expert guidance on internal projects, particularly large-scale technology implementations. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and mission-driven institution in a remote-first environment with occasional on-site meetings.

  • A Change Management expert with 5+ years of experience delivering successful outcomes.

  • An analytical thinker with strong problem-solving and project management skills.

  • A skilled communicator with the ability to lead, coach, and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • A collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment. (Bay Area candidate preferred)

This position pays:

$100/hr – $120/hr W2

What you will be doing:

  • Lead and manage change management activities for assigned projects.

  • Apply change management methodologies, assess change readiness, and develop strategies.

  • Facilitate communication and collaboration to ensure effective implementation of change plans.

  • Coach project managers and leaders on change management best practices.

  • Analyze current state, identify improvement opportunities, and develop plans for success.

  • Establish and manage project change governance structures.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to solve complex issues.

What you bring:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools.

  • Proven ability to apply change management to support successful business outcomes in complex projects.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project planning skills.

  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and facilitation skills.

  • Ability to coach, mentor, and influence people at all levels.

  • Collaborative team player with a track record of success working with diverse stakeholders.

  • (Preferred) Knowledge of the higher education environment and Lean continuous improvement methodologies.

Additional Information:

  • Remote work with occasional on-site meetings in the San Francisco Bay Area.

  • 2-year project with a possible extension to 5 years.

  • This role reports to the PMO leadership.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Change, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • Certified Change Management professional (Prosci preferred) a plus.
