Shipping and Warehouse Team Lead

Petaluma Food Manufacturer is hiring! Seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipping and Warehouse Team Lead to oversee our shipping and warehouse operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of five employees, ensuring that all orders are prepared, wrapped and ready for distribution. The role involves utilizing Fishbowl software for inventory management, coordinating the palletization of orders, and maintaining a high level of team performance and efficiency.

Location: Petaluma, CA

Work hours:6-2:30

Compensation: $28-32 per hour DOE plus benefits and opportunity for growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Management:
    • Supervise and lead a team of five shipping and warehouse staff.
    • Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to team members.
    • Foster a positive and productive work environment.
    • Schedule shifts and manage labor resources to meet operational needs.

  2. Order Preparation and Fulfillment:
    • Ensure all customer orders are accurately picked, packed, and prepared and palletized for pickup.
    • Oversee the palletization of orders to ensure they are ready for transport.

  3. Inventory Management:
    • Utilize Fishbowl software to manage inventory levels, track shipments, and maintain accurate records.
    • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the procurement team to reorder supplies as needed.
    • Conduct regular inventory audits and resolve any discrepancies.

  4. Operational Efficiency:
    • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
    • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and operational.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in shipping and warehouse, with at least 2 years of supervisor or team lead experience.
  • Proficiency in using an inventory management systems.
  • Utilize a forklift
  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and accuracy.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a food production or distribution environment.
  • Knowledge of shipping regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues efficiently.
  • Bilingual a plus
