Job Summary: 



Dynamic opportunity at an early stage tech company for a Payroll Manager with 5+ years in a hands-on role running a 1-person payroll department.  The client is seeking a detail-oriented, hands-on Payroll Manager to perform essential job duties and responsibilities. 



Job Title Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare and process semi-monthly payrolls, including new hires, terminations, time-off requests, and leave calculations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local wage laws.
  • Calculate and process bonuses and off-cycle payrolls as needed.
  • Reconcile benefit records with HR systems monthly, resolve issues, and ensure accurate retirement contributions.
  • Maintain compliance with all payroll regulations, update tax rates, respond to agency notices, and coordinate tax jurisdiction registrations.
  • Ensure accurate W-2 reporting, oversee system upgrades, and assist with internal control measures and audits.




Job Title Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business with a minimum of 5+ years of direct payroll operations experience, including 2 years using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Extensive knowledge of ADP Workforce Now, Time-off and Time & Attendance systems, and federal/state labor laws.
  • Demonstrated experience fostering a customer service-oriented culture, strong work ethic, team mentality, and excellent business partnering skills.
  • Proficient in payroll/compensation systems, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other productivity tools, with the ability to translate complex payroll concepts into understandable terms.
