DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS – DISTRIBUTION CENTER 

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA AREA






The Director of Operations will take responsibility for operating an efficient, productive, and safe warehouse and transportation departments, while meeting or exceeding operational and financial goals. 



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Provide strong leadership and management in all processes related to warehousing and transportation 
  • Provides strategic & analytical leadership related to efficient operations, effective systems utilization, predictive analytics, and organizational development. 
  • Articulates a vision that is aligned with the company’s outlook. 
  • Anticipates business opportunities and obstacles. Creates strong action plans as countermeasures. 
  • Manages the strategic and tactical activities of complex, automated, high volume distribution center and delivery system. 
  • Breaks down tasks or problems to understand complexities and develop critical action plans. 
  • Develops and maintains effective knowledge of applicable Warehouse Management Systems, Transportation Management Systems (RoadNet) and peripherals. 
  • Manages security and maintenance of facilities. 
  • Manages supply chain from incoming receipt to shelf, inventory control, cycle counting, picking, shipping, route management, and delivery. 
  • Assures timely and cost-effective delivery of customer orders in partnership with sales/brand management teams. 
  • Drives the team to achieve performance objectives and focus on continuous improvement. 
  • Establish strong relationships with external and internal customers: Customer Service, Sales Support, Brand Management, & Logistics. 
  • Ensures compliance with all Federal and State regulatory requirements. 
  • Ensures compliance with all warehouse and delivery safe work methods and policies. 
  • Participates in the preparation of the annual capital and operational expense budgets. 
  • Works well in a multicultural environment, accepting and respecting others regardless of differences. 
  • Consistently delivers on commitments without sacrificing personal or business ethics. 

OTHER FUNCTIONS 

  • Must demonstrate ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Requires strong leadership skills, knowledge of regulatory and company policy.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics or related field with 10+ years’ experience in Distribution/Transportation operations. 
  • Minimum ten years’ experience in distribution operations management. 
  • Experienced in automated distribution environment. 
  • Demonstrated computer skills. 
  • Ability to plan and organize. 
  • Knowledge and experience with warehouse equipment. 
  • Valid Driver’s License 

COMPENSATION INCLUDES SALARY RANGE OF $130,000-140,000 w/Annual Bonus of 15% and outstanding benefits.
